Quick Fishing Tips

Now, in Animal Crossing, fishing is pretty easy. Cast, wait, reel!

But there are several small, simple tips I can supply. Of course, there is nothing I can do to improve your reflexes!

Fishing in Animal Crossing: City Folk is a somewhat new experience. That is, if you don't use the nunchuk to fish! You can either fish the traditional way, by pressing A on either the Wiimote or nunchuk, or you can add some dynamic to the game and YANK the Wiimote up when the fish bites! Fun!

Now, you know it gets nerve-wracking when you know you're about to catch a rare fish...but when is it going to bite down, dang it?! Rest assured, that fish is not going to bite your bobber more than 5 times. In AC: WW, this rule doesn't apply. But in City Folk, it's your best friend. Knowing that if the fish hasn't chomped by bite #4, you can prepare yourself and hook 'em before he knows what hit him!!

Another difference in City Folk is that the fish are CRAZY! They swim every which way and sometimes nibble then dash in the opposite direction...it's difficult to predict. In general, though, if your bobber is within the red lines I scribbled on the image below, the fish will notice it. By the way, that fish was a hammerhead shark! Keep your eye out for the finned fish! In GENERAL. I can't guarantee it fish will notice the bobber though, because the fish in this game have little to no brain. : P

Now, everyone hates sea bass. I hate sea bass, so why wouldn't you? Haha, I know. But it just so happens that many rare fish have shadows VERY similar in size and shape to sea bass. It's also true that sea bass shadows themselves vary! So keep an eye out and let your fish senses wander. Some shadows are skinnier, wider, longer, or scrunched up but still appear to be sea bass. My advice to catch every single fish you see, whether or not you pass it off as a sea bass. You'll be sure to land a big one!

In one of the next posts I write, I'll be telling of all the rare fish and when they appear. : D Keep on coming back and ask any questions you'd like about any fish or bugs!

Good luck fishing!

Katie
