The Bug Creeper

As my first real "tip" for all who decide to read this, I've to make you a better bug-hunter.

The trick to catching the rare beauties of the Animal Crossing bug realm is...well, being able to get close enough to them! Now, as you may remember from the GC, the villagers give you a very helpful tip: Running around, screaming, and waving your net may work on dragonflies and butterflies, but you have to be quiet and slow when catching things like tree-clingers. Even scorpions and tarantulas may fall for the ninja-stealth that I am about to bestow upon thee!...er...I mean, the incredible quietness that is epic for catching bugs.

OKAY...enough of that. So how do you get close? You creep! No, don't log into facebook and stalk everyone you know...not THAT kind of creep! I mean the slow, silent walk that no insect dares detect.

Always have your net out when bug hunting...it might save you if you get too close and are unable to save yourself otherwise! Running is a no-no. Walking is a no-no. If your bug-senses are tingling in the slightest, take your finger OFF of that joystick! Point the remote AWAY from the screen! Hold still! Lock your eyes on the target...creeping is easy if you know how. Simply tilt the joystick only slightly in the direction you're moving, then stop. Tilt for a second, stop. Do this until you can smell that critter, and can hardly see it through your enormous animal crossing head. Then...A BUTTON! Swing! You caught a ____! Hooray!

Just look at how close I am to this Oak Silk Moth. Mm, I can feel the dust from its wings going in my nostrils! These bugs are usually the most skittish in the game, but when you get all ninja on them...psh, they don't know what's coming! Until you sell them for 1,200 bells at Nook's. >: 3

Well, I hope you find the creeping technique to be all you ever dreamed of and more.
I guarantee that if you master creeping (which shouldn't take long), you'll be better at catching bugs! Golden Stag Beetles, Oak Silth Moths, and even Scarabs will be within your grasp.

Good luck!
Katie
